An Uber driver has contacted DM News and said that he got banned from Uber for 4 days while they investigate even though the driver sent in Dashcam footage, 15 seconds into the video you can see the Uber driver stopping in the road as the passenger who booked him ran across the front of his car, the driver asked his name to confirm the booking and the passenger said it doesn’t matter and canceled the booking. 10 minutes later the Uber driver was not allowed online and Uber stated he was under investigation for trying to run over one of his passengers.
The video proved this was not the case and the driver was completely innocent yet lost 4 days’ pay for this complaint. The Uber driver requested compensation from Uber themselves, which they refused. If the driver wants compensation from the passenger for the false claim, the driver would have to go through a solicitor to request the passenger’s information so he can take them to court. The driver declined due to the costs and time of hiring a solicitor and going to court.
