Uber drivers earnings dropping week by week even though expenses are higher than ever

A while back Uber introduced dynamic pricing which means Uber can charge whatever the customer wants and pay the driver whatever they want, there is no fixed pricing or commissions. Uber takes between 0 and 50% commission on each fare and sometimes pays more than the customer is paying to get the passenger picked up. When the demand is very high the price surges and sometimes 3x the price, but when demand is low the price is low for the customer and even lower for the driver. An Uber driver in Liverpool sent in these images to DM News, below are some examples of how much Uber offers to pay the driver for each trip, these days it’s very close to £1 per mile.

At the moment expenses are extremely high for fuel, insurance, and finance payments yet Uber is paying drivers less and less each year. Drivers are not happy with the way Uber is heading and may be looking elsewhere for work.
