Wolverhampton Licensed PHVs Pass Compliance Checks in Liverpool

Licensed private hire vehicles (PHVs) operating in Liverpool have been given a clean bill of health following joint compliance checks carried out last night.

The operation was led by compliance officers working alongside Liverpool City Council’s Licensing team and Merseyside Police Traffic officers. The focus was on ensuring licensed vehicles were meeting all legal and safety requirements.

During the checks, all Wolverhampton-licensed private hire vehicles were found to be fully compliant, with no breaches identified.

Wolverhampton City Council has become one of the largest licensing authorities in the UK, with many drivers operating outside of the city under cross-border rules. These joint inspections are often carried out to reassure the public that standards are being upheld and that vehicles licensed elsewhere are still subject to enforcement and compliance monitoring.

The operation has been praised as an example of successful multi-agency collaboration, with licensing authorities and police working together to keep passengers safe.
