Bristol Airport Launches Tender for Exclusive Taxi and Private Hire Partner

Bristol Airport has announced it is seeking a single taxi and private hire operator to become its official ground transport partner as part of its £400 million expansion project.

The Invitation to Tender (ITT), now live on the airport’s e-tendering site, invites fully licensed and premium taxi and private hire firms to submit bids for the high-profile contract.

Premium Location and Advertising Support

The successful bidder will secure a prime taxi office location close to the terminal, along with exclusive advertising support from the airport. The contract will run for five years, with the option to extend for a further two years.

24/7 Service and Modern Fleet

Bristol Airport has made it clear that the chosen provider must offer a 24/7 service to and from the terminal at Lulsgate Bottom.

Strict vehicle requirements have been outlined:

  • At least 75% of the fleet must be hybrid or electric from the start of the contract
  • At least 25% must be fully electric by the end of 2025

The airport also requires consistent branding, high standards of cleanliness, and a “first-class” customer experience.

Sustainability at the Forefront

Rupert Lawrie, commercial director for Bristol Airport, said:

“We are looking forward to hearing from businesses who would like to tender for our private hire taxi service at such an exciting time. We welcome applications from all companies that offer an extremely high level of customer comfort and service and who also operate with sustainability at the forefront of their business. A clean and efficient fleet of vehicles is paramount.”
